This is probably long overdue. Ron and his team facilitated my divorce over the course of a year. Divorce is painful and emotional and if you're like me, you don't know much about the process and don't really have the headspace to learn all about it while it is happening to you...Ron's parting words at my first consult with him were, "The best thing you can do is pretend like you are asleep for the next 6-12 months and let me handle things." Those words were so true. I didn't always want to listen to them, but being 5 months post divorce and still dealing with some issues with opposing parties not living up to the terms of the MSA, Ron is still in my corner. I don't think I realized how good he and his team are until recently. Discussing my agreement with divorcees has shown me that Ron helped me reach a fair deal that allows me to move on in life with confidence and financial stability and do the right thing for my children and he kept emotion out of it which is so important in negotiation for separating assets and in my case a lot of liabilities.

It’s hard to know where to start but here goes. This past year was an uphill battle for myself to try to get 50 percent custody of my two little ones due to an ugly divorce. In the beginning I googled the top lawyers around my area and thankfully I was able to find Ronald L. Bell & Associates P.C.. From the moment I walked in I knew I made the right choice. Lisa and Amy were there to not only listen to me but reassured me I had made the right choice to come and see Ron. Ron has been there for me through it all. He will tell you exactly what you need to do in order for you to get the results you want. I followed his instructions to a T. I did not sway at all even though sometimes I was frustrated with what was asked of me in court. He can be very stern and sometimes it comes off in a bad way but it comes from a place of experience. We hired Mr Bell because of his experience hoping he would be able to help us. He showed up at our first hearing starting out with “who are you people again”, he had not even looked at my husband’s divorce settlement agreement to know we were wasting our time and money taking his ex-wife back to court trying to lower her maintenance when he retired because he was only getting half of his income from Social Security and his half of his pension. She had a settlement that could not be modified and if he had read it, he would have known, thereby saving us $3,000. When we questioned him, he told my husband to ask her lawyer. We don’t feel Mr Bell helped us at all and was only interested in how much money he could get from us, not in how to help us. We would not recommend him to anyone.

Ron has been my Attorney since August 30, 2016. I know that day very well. It's the first day since the day my Husband left and took EVERYTHING out of our bank accounts (leaving myself and Children penniless) that I finally felt safe, protected and that I had a chance against that Man whom I thought I knew. Ron settled my divorce case and I could not have been more satisfied.

My ex and I had pretty much settled our case with one invaluable exception, the dog. After she broke our agreement and refused to give him back to me I spoke to multiple attorneys. Every singe one of them basically said "Why don't you just get another dog?" Until I met Ron. Ron understood exactly where I was coming from and sincerely cared that I get my dog back. The minute I hired him I felt like he truly cared about me and my situation. He was not just looking to settle the case, he was looking out for my best interest in getting the case settled. He was also realistic and told me he could not guarantee I would get my dog. He said based on the facts he felt I should, but he explained the process. It was not exactly what I wanted to hear, but he was honest and that was more important than an empty promise. I knew what to expect and that was very fair of him.

From years of experience Ron knew time was of the essence and he got the process started as quickly as he could. His team was amazing at letting me know how the process worked, where we were and what to expect next.

One of the reasons I felt so comfortable in the process was because of Ron's attentiveness. He listened to everything I had to say about the situation. He explained to me what was pertinent, what was not and explained why. He came up with some ideas on how to approach the situation and was willing to let me tell him what I was and was not comfortable with in regards to those ideas.

When Ron walks into court you can just feel how respected he is by everyone. The judges, the courtroom employees and the other attorneys all show Ron a great deal of respect. People went out of their way to say hello to Ron and he just seemed at home in the courtroom.

The first time we were in court things got tense between my ex and me. Ron was very quick to come to my defense and call my ex out to her and her attorney when my she made a decision out of spite towards me. Because it was such an overwhelming and emotional situation it really put me at ease when he stepped up on my behalf.

When it came to the actual hearing Ron was at his absolute best. Because I had never been in court before he made sure I knew exactly what to expect. I felt much more at ease because of his help. He knew exactly what facts we needed to get across to the judge and made sure they were presented and supported. He was quick to get objections every time the opposing attorney and my ex made unreasonable remarks (like when she claimed to be able to know what the dog was thinking.)

When the judge ruled in my favor I did not feel like Ron's client. He was truly happy that I was going to get my dog back. When my ex and her attorney made snide comments he once again was quick to jump to my side.

What happened after the case solidified my beliefs of just how sincere Ron and his team were about my case. The night of the hearing I received a call from Ron asking if my dog was home and how he was doing. The case was over, we won. But he went out of way to check in on us and that made me feel like I was not just another client, he really cared.

At the end of the day I was completely satisfied with Ron's representation. When he took the case he got to know all the facts and he represented the absolute best anyone could. He used the facts and his experience to make sure we got the outcome we desired.

Back in October I was involved In a Hit & Run accident a friend advised me to call Ron. After calling and speaking to many lawyers getting many different scenarios of what could happen to me, I was to say the least freaking out. After calling Ron he answered all questions over the phone calmed me down completely set up a time for me to meet and review my case. Ron was very knowledgeable I felt at ease after meeting with him we came up with a game plan to attack my case. He contacted the Sheriffs office on my behalf and also made several calls to insurance company. Mr. Bell's negotiation skills are not to be reckoned with!
I was stopped on US Highway 55 for an accident that was in front of me with nowhere to go when I was rear ended by two vehicles. I had a very difficult and complicated case because of the two other motorists. The wanted separate claims and jurisdiction. I had many injuries (previous, related and unrelated). I would not have received hardly any compensation for my injuries without Mr. Bell’s help. But we won with tremendous results. I was impressed with Mr. Bell’s knowledge, straight forwardness, honesty, and his negotiation skills are not to be reckoned with! He is one who plays to the letter of the law to build a strong foundation. He and his exceptional staff worked very hard to gather all medical and personal witnesses to attest to my character and the changes that had occurred in me. I always felt taken care of and respected by not only Mr. Bell but also his entire staff. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Loud and mean and combative does not equate to a better lawyer, outcome or to Ron bells style.

Ron bell is about settling your case for and with the benefits of the children first, you second as I feel it should be.

Understand, though Ron is far from a push over, I would not want to be on the opposing side that played unfair or dirty against him.

My case is unique for my custody case dealt with a special needs child that has a profound cognitive deficit along with medical issues.

However, I felt as well as Ron that the preponderance of evidence was in my favor to be awarded the vast majority of visitation, even sole custody, Ron looked at the bigger long-term picture and tried hard to facilitate a fair, and equitable settlement for all that would best suit my special child.

Even with a loud, egotistical and arrogant IMHO opposing attorney, Ron handled himself professionally, though threw and connected his punches when appropriate and stifled me when I went off on the opposing attorney (he, the opposing attorney deserved it).

Most important to you regarding this review is I walked away with the vast majority of time with my child, eliminated all the financial issues and can meet with my gods knowing it was handled properly.

Now I have my Child full-time where he is safe, happy and able to be himself!

Ron never lost any of the battles and won the case hands down.

The next most important consideration, fees!

Ron’s bill for handling the last 5 months of this 9-month case was less than two other lawyers with room to spare. Ron only bills for time worked on the case and Ron took my calls 24x7, and I mean this. He or his office would return my calls and texts in minutes or hours and even sooner, when I said it was an emergency

I know most other lawyers would have billed me 50,000 or more while my total bill was a fraction of this amount. Ron attended four way meetings, status calls, hearings, time with witnesses and numerous face-to-face meetings with me as well as several calls.

Bottom line I still receive texts and calls from Ron and his office just asking how things are going. I know they sincerely care.

Therefore, in my opinion after an ugly contested divorce 10 years back, other custody battles, and this final contested custody battle I am glad I found Ron Bell, I, and my special needs child sincerely recommend Ron bell to represent you and your family for all matters of law.

Living in Texas, we had a situation that involved a paternity claim against a person who was now living in Illinois. To complicate matters, the person died during the middle of the process. What resulted was a complete stop to the numerous transaction and communication between the offices of the Atty General for both Texas and Illinois as well as social security paperwork was in process.
