I fractured a vertebrae when I was thrown from our lawn tractor after hitting a hole created by a subcontractor helping to build a house next to ours. I was severely injured in 2012 and called Jim. I was working in Stevens Point at a new grocery store setup. We were told we had to go out back to the receiving area to smoke a cigarette. I went out on break with a friend to smoke, I stood near a large compactor for garbage. As I stood there a truck driver came through and struck the compactor knocking me down and pinning my foot under the compactor. I was taken out after about 25 minutes and rushed to the hospital in Point. They couldn't fix me they would amputate my foot. I was then brought back to Milwaukee to Froedert. I spent 15 days there and had 4 surgeries in a week. They repaired my foot. I spent 6 months in a wheelchair and another 6 months of intense therapy. I had to have another surgery a couple years after that. Jim stuck with me every step of the way. He always touched base with me on a regular basis. We settled my case in 2016, he was extremely prepared to go to court and win. We settled for 1.5 million. I was extremely pleased. ALL of my bills were paid before I received my money, I'm not sure why the person above would say that about a chiropractor bill. Makes no sense. Jim is extremely professional and would not have done that. He's also a really nice guy!!

These gentlemen are quite likable so I retained them to represent me for litigation with an insurance company for an automobile accident.

I was rear ended while stopped at a traffic signal and the other driver was issued citations. I was injured and went to the hospital for treatment. I also received treatments from a Chiropractic clinic.

After some time, I requested that my case be settled. I was told that Insurance company would settle for approximately $8900, and that my share after the medical expenses would be $5000 after attorneys fees, so I accepted the offer, cashed the check, and used the proceeds to pay bills.

Sometime thereafter, I was contacted by the Chiropractic office attempting to collect the nearly $3500 in fees for their services to me for treatment due to this accident. The Chiropractic office informed me at that time, that they had a lien filed with the attorneys office for approximately $3500 for their services, and that the attorneys should have paid them the approximately $3500 to settle their lien prior to issuing a settlement check to me, which the attorneys office later admitted.

I had no idea that this lien was in place, nor that it had not been paid prior to my receiving a settlement check for $5000, which left me still owing approximately $3500 to the Chiropractic office.

The long and short of this story is that out of this settlement, the attorneys took approximately $3900, the Chiropractic office was supposed to have received approximately $3500 to satisfy their lien, which I now owe to them, and I am currently being pursued for by collections agents, and I received approximately $1500 for my inconvenience, pain, and suffering.

If I would have known about the unpaid lien to the Chiropractic office, I would never have agreed to the settlement arrangement nor would have I cashed the check.

I have since called and asked the attorneys for assistance in resolving this issue, they replied that they were unable to do anything to assist me and that perhaps I could make a payment arrangement with the Chiropractic office.

I would have been much better going it alone with the Insurance company. Lesson learned, I will not do that again.
