Very ethical, personable, and capable lawyer. Patient, takes the time to answer all questions. Recently used Murray to settle my mother's estate and even though their were disagreements between heirs, Murray smoothed things over with all for a fair distribution. Highly recommend him.

Do not by any means hire this lawyer. Met with Murray to go over a civil case to see if it was worth suing. He said I had a case. I advised Mr. Carr that I had a court date in February he advised me not to go to the court date and that he would take care of rescheduling, and get back to me with a date. That was in January I have not heard from Mr. Carr it’s now April I have made several calls left several messages and still have not heard back from him. My last voicemail message was requesting the original receipts still no call back he has my money and I have nothing no update no nothing and at this point I’m sure he didn’t reschedule my hearing and now I look like I blew it off You have been warned!!!

I have been knowing Mr. Carr for 20 plus years and I cannot say anything bad about him as he has always helped my family through rough times. His fees are very reasonable and he does an excellent job representing his paying or non paying clients, I know because at times when I didn't have the money to pay him he has waved the fees. I have always recommended him to friends and family and I will continue to do so.

Mr. Carr was appointed to represent me in an appeal by Albany supreme Court Justice McNamara.
Despite my repeated requests, Mr. Carr refused to prepare for my upcoming trial dismissing my insistence that it was indeed a trial. Granted, an appeal to make Judge McNamara obey nys law requiring i receive a portion of my husband's pension, would not ordinarily require a trial. But had Mr Carr chosen to hear my account of the most shocking behavior of a supreme Court Justice that left lawyers on both sides visibly shocked and speechless, he might have just taken a quick peek out of curiosity and thus prepared. ...or not.
Barely 30 minutes before the trial he called me to apologize for his oversight and to assure me that no preparation was needed anyway.
It was a disaster of course. I'll spare you the horrific details.
Judge McNamara handed down his decision, that i receive only the retirement required by NYS law that he had refused me the first time.
When I questioned Mr. Carr's failure to represent me he reminded me, again, that I am not a paying customer.
Now 2 years later my husband still refuses to carry out the court's order. Mr. Carr has repeatedly refused to answer my calls and emails. All but one. He called me to tell me that he would attend to my case only after fulfilling his duties for those who pay for his services.
I demanded my files but after agreeing to return them he immediately rescinded asking me to ignore that earlier email. And by requesting information via email he thus showed signs of actually working on it now.
Months later, after those couple of days of corresponding with me, I told his secretary to ready my files for pickup, again. That afternoon she emailed me a document he had shoddily prepared. She called and asked me to confirm when I had received it.
It was a litany of requests for Mr. Carr's legal fees, reimbursements for copy paper and stamps and the like and one request for back child support.
Funny thing is my case has no such request for child support! He had no clue who I was! I don't know if he just made it up as he went along or maybe confused me with another non paying customer whose file he never looked at either. It wouldn' be the first time he didn't know what my case was about.
Based on that and a whole lot more, I do not recommend hiring him.

According to Mr. Carr, he'll do what is required if you pay him. If that is sufficient for you by all means hire him.
