I do not recommend Hugh. He was unprepared for our court case. A terrible experience. He seems nice enough while one on one, yet he acts insecure and submissive during the hearing. Meanwhile the opposition were strong and assertive. If you are looking for a fighter, Hugh is not your man.
I might add that he missed a deadline because of shoddy work by his employee, which only reflects on Hugh. Hugh refuses to admit he has not done a good job for some and tries to blame others rather than be accountable for his own his stuff, apologize, and try to do better for the client.,

I don't even what to give them 1 star. There rude and load. For 45 mins. It cost $210.00 for nothing. Yelling at my disabled brother for a mistake one of there employers did. He is a Jerk. No good attorney. Charges a person for doing nothing....

Although he did come of as indifferent at times I thought he was a great attorney, when you are dealing with the law you need a straight forward person, and although Hugh always seemed rushed he always surprised me with his knowledge of my case and his ability to reason and plead a case even when the offense is stacked against you. Could he improve his people skills? Yes he really could and should, but, and I'm sure he would laugh at this, he IS a lawyer! ;) I think he just is dealing with serious crime cases and his apparent indifference is just comparable to a Physicist teaching remedial math, it's not he isnt good at it its just that for him these smaller cases (ones where the defendants have the ability to write google reviews) are pretty cut and dry and there isn't much of an argument to be made in the defense so he resorts to reasoning with the prosecutor for a lesser punishment. That may sound harsh but hey don't hate the player hate the game the fact is a police officers word, true or not, holds about 10 times as much water as your defense. He is a good lawyer its our judicial system that is flawed, especially in Oregon and even worse in Eugene.
