Still have not returned my call after two weeks, going on the third!

When I first needed legal aid assistance years ago the attorney assigned to me was absolutely wonderful, great attitude, very persistent, took the time to truly understand and represent me to the fullest. (Years ago-I’d have said 5 stars wasn’t enough!)
I then had the unfortunate experience of her moving mid case, I was transferred to another attorney in the office whom was horrific. She was a bully, never allowed me to fully explain or understand things, she threatened to not represent me unless I did exactly as she told me and vocalized she just wanted my case over with. I then had the displeasure of having another attorney with the same office after my RO was contested. I never fully received information pertaining to my cases due to the choice of “inability” by legal aid to accept my full case (divorce/custody/RO) therefore I never actually was given my full case info.
They never call you back, they don’t give you information as requested, when requested. You’d think with working in a community to help those who’ve had the life-altering challenges of domestic violence, child neglect and abuse etc that they’d employ those who want to make a difference and are willing to work to make those who need it truly safe and protected and help navigate through the laws. It’s very disheartening when those who are there to help make the choice to not help. Entire staff is uncommunicative and unhelpful and unwilling to guide you to where you need to be.

Never got help for my mother in law who is a Medicare recipient and a senior.

Not helpful at all. I won my case because of technicality and persistence. Legal aid should have seen that right away if they had any interest in actually sitting down with me. But receptionist was abrupt and unempathetic and at times seemed like she could care less.
