Five years ago I interviewed several Family law lawyers that were recommended to me. Because of the precarious situation with my case I wanted to ensure I had someone that could advocate for my child. I was very impressed with Amber Lawrence and her professional tenacious expert knowledge related to Family Law. I could tell she knew her stuff. My case involved child custody issues and child support. We were in and out of court and she was able to communicate our side with clear facts that showed the best interest of my child. We won every single time in court because of her wisdom and fairness during the process. I am forever indebted to Amber for ensuring my child was given the best support and advocacy possible.

If I could give negative stars, I would! First, I hired them for a one-time, child support hearing that lasted 20 minutes. Pretty cut and dry. No attorney was required for this appearance, but I hired one just to be "safe". Olmsted County incorrectly adjusted my child support payment. During my initial consultation, I was told that they needed a $1500.00 retainer fee; however, more than likely, I would get a refund of part of that money because it was a simple child support adjustment hearing. It would not require that many "man" hours. Needless to say, I paid the retainer, went to court and received a bill for additional fees. I ended up owing $1280.75 more! My total bill was $2780.00! They charged for 5 hours of "research time". On a child support adjustment? Family law is their specialty, what do they have to research? I gave them my pay stubs and she calculated what my actual earnings were in a matter of minutes. On top of that, her staff misplaced forms that I filled out. They emailed me to fill them out again. When I went to drop off these forms, I was told that they found them, but STILL CHARGED ME FOR THE COMMUNICATION THAT TOOK PLACE DUE TO THEIR MISHANDLING OF MY INFORMATION! Do not use these attorneys. It is my opinion that they will overcharge (or erroneously charge) for sub level services.
