Told me what I wanted to hear and when we get to court total opposite of what we discussed. It’s hard to find a trustworthy attorney.

If i could rate him a zero i would very unprofessional i filed for an uncontested divorce 2yrs ago .until now still waiting

I started my uncontested divorce process with him 2 years ago and Still no divorce . I did several intakes with various paralegals at his firm, I made payment for retainers, and fees on the very first week. I have not only emailed his firm but have tried calling daily, no answer. Last email I got from his firm, was to tell me that " they hired a paralegal in Buffalo to submit my paperwork", and then no more correspondence, I hired this attorney because of his reviews on here, but I regret it because it doesn’t take over 2 years for a simple uncontested divorce. Be cautious.

He is a horrible lawyer! I hired him for an amicable uncontested divorce in 2015 and it still isn't settled. You can not get in touch with anyone, no response to emails and now because he has not responded to court requests I have a contested divorce because he didn't file the paperwork on time. I have no idea how this man can even practice law, should have known from the beginning when they couldn't transcribe our names properly!! I filed a report with the BBB, but they were unable to get in touch with him either. I feel the next step is to file a complaint with the Grievance Committee because this seems to be a pattern not the exception. Please save yourself the aggravation and get another attorney!

From the start everything was backwards
( Uncontested Divorce ) = no kids , property or assets..... It took a year and few months of stress , Mr. Gilmers unprofessonal work and excuses .
Breif info of what happened :
I started my case August of last year
* Waited a long time for a document to be done ... every time I reviewed the papers to see if everything was correct , it was WRONG!!!! I explained to them what they had to fix and pointed it out to them and they said they would let Mr.Gilmer know..... Few mths later I had a close family member in the hospital ... the staff called me to come in for the correted documents & I left the hospital and came in ( I dont even live in BK ) .... Still the documents were wrong ..... As I made a big deal about it , one of his staff members had a attitude with me .... *** his staff had no knowledge of anything *****
* He then fired his staff , and still everything was wrong and nothing inproved !!! Still couldnt get a hold of him , got lame excuses for why he was out or couldnt answer calls ...
* One time I went to his office for a appt and he was 2 hrs late .... It was an important matter and when he called me in to talk he only spoke about vacation and didnt seem to care I told him he had very bad reviews and to pull his stuff together before he falls hard and he called the people to fix those reviews !!! WHAT A JOKE !!! theres so much more that I could write a whole book ... BEWARE and STAY away he will take youre $$ and do nothing !!!!

We won the case. But, getting a hold of George was a challenge. Albeit my situation was complicated, and for George it wasn't a huge case, but sometimes talking your client down off the ledge of frustration is part of the job. That element was lacking via e-messages. In person however George got it right 100% of the time. So results are the bottom line, but those 2 extra stars would be his if we matched expectations with reality in regard to access and response. I'll give him 3.5 stars if I could. But in regard to law, argument and points? He hit the mark, just don't expect a timely call back if you need to speak to him. For me, that was a big deal, but again, he won, so...hard to argue that.

I hired him for an immigration process and five months later he has done nothing! When he had his staff they sent me the filled forms with wrong information even when I had already given them all the documentation required to fill the forms. Later on, I told Mr. Gilmer I needed the forms to be sent out by an specific date (before September)and he agreed. Two weeks later I called him and he told me he would send them in september, to which I replied that I couldn't wait until september. He again agreed to send them one week prior to september. That week I called his office and the secretary told me he was ON VACATION!! She had no idea he had to finish something he agreed to do and that he would be back in september.
When he got back and saw my review he asked me to remove it and said he would give me back my money and documentation. He gave me a check for the filing fees I paid and some documentation. He still owes me $1500 and other important documentation and now he never answers the phone, doesn't return calls or emails! He IS a CON ARTIST!

If I could give him zero stars and write this I would. Apparently the only way I could get in contact with anyone is by writing horrible reviews. I have emails for the past 2 months with no reply and have been calling but can’t leave a voicemail because the inbox is full. Business should never be conducted in this fashion.

This is by far the worse office. Mr. Gilmer blames his staff for his mistakes. His staff has sent out unprofessional emails to clients. (BTW everyone uses the same email address, so not sure who actually sent the email out.) As of a few weeks ago he had fired his entire support staff and hired new staff. Still today, nothing has changed. He has been working on my friend's paper work for over a year. He promises things will get done and filed and nothing happens. He has the "next week syndrome", but nothing changes. It is very difficult to get in contact with Mr. Gilmer or his staff, via email or phone.

George Gilmer is a great attorney and he did a wonderful job on my case. In comparison to my previous lawyer Peter Cedeno who was a real schmuck who couldn't argue his way out of a paper bag George was prepared and ready for the fight at hand. I felt my money was well spent and Mr. Gilmer earned every penny of it. I was also impressed with his ability to communicate the facts clearly in a way that the judge and opposing side could easily understand.

Terrible terrible terrible lawyer/liar. Took my $$$ for an ACS case and has done 0. I am reporting him to the bar association. All the women in the office are unprofessional and not knowledgeable of any type of law at all. Can't figure out how they have a job. Office is a mess and I have recordings of their unprofessional behavior. Run away don't walk. Any positive review had to be, I repeat had to be written by the cooks that work in his office... please beware!!!!

This lawyer left me in court to defend for myself more than 5 times. Today I had court and Mr. Gilmer decides to call me 5 mins before the time of court to let me know he wouldn't be coming in today he has the flu. I would give him no stars at all if that was an option. This guy is not who you would want on your side at all!!!!!!!!

George was a God Send! I spoke to him prior to hireing him for an ACS case and he was very informative and honest unlike another attorney who was trying to take advantage of me during a difficult time! I later hired him and he cleared my name! Thank you for being supportive and honest! His team was very helpful as well!!!

George Gilmer has been an enormous help in my recent acquisition of a new house. He has shown a variety of skills that exceed what an average attorney would be capable of, and has stuck with us for well over a year during the process.Throughout the process he was determined to get the job done, despite having to wait for TWO banks to approve the sale. He remained calm and collected even though there were many times that I felt like quitting. His quick thinking and legal knowledge allowed the purchase to be carried out in as quick a time frame as possible. Beyond helping us purchase our house George Gilmer has even helped draft our tenants leases despite the workload that was already given to him. In the future I would be more than happy to return for more legal service.

George is an expert litigator. He ran circles around my exhusbamds and the opposing litigator.

This lawyer is not easy to get hold of. He called me back once when I was nursing my child and couldn't get the phone. After I called him back and left a message, he never called again -- which ended up being great for me, as while I was waiting for his call back, I found a much better lawyer, who is a lot more available for his clients.

Mr Gilmer handled my divorce in a timely and professional manner. I am now about to hire him for a bankruptcy
