I hired them to assist with some legal matters. The lawyers I worked with were always professional and did a good job explaining what is going on and what my options were. Would recommend.

“We hired Susan Dawson from WPD to help us with an IDES audit. She offered professional and legal expertise as she guided us through the daunting process of determining whether our team of caregivers should be independent contractors or employees. We are forever grateful for the excellent service she provided and I highly recommend Susan Dawson for any of your corporate legal issues."

I’ve trusted WP&D for nearly 10 years now. They have supported us through my previous company’s rapid growth years and subsequent sale. With our new start-up, they continue to provide sage advice and guidance as well as strong contractual support. The team at WP&D have even helped our family with our wills, estate planning, trusts, and powers of attorney. They truly are partners with us on our family and business journeys.

Sue Dawson and her team are some of the most amazing, caring lawyers out there. They are truly professional and "results' oriented." I can't say enough good things— honest, reliable, transparent, professional — they get the job done! They helped me with several corporate issues, as well as my personal estate work. They did it fast and in a very cost-effective way. Sue is currently working with me on obtaining WBE certification, and I am confident that this will be a huge asset to our overall business plan. I hired WP&D for their knowledge and expertise. Sue, Millie and the entire team exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this firm — great attorneys, great experiences!

"I would like to thank the entire team for their excellent service and support in providing legal direction for our business. I have worked with WPD for several years and their overall undivided attention in delivering a great service exceeds my expectations. Several times I have used WPD, with the most recent need for the business to be recognized as a certified WBE with the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. The attention to detail and timing to deliver results was executed quickly to assure a quick outcome. The staff is friendly, respectful and tireless in their efforts to assure great service and results. WPD is entirely professional in pursing the best interest of the company by providing great detail and direction. Retained WP&D, Millie Palmer, to update my long overdue Will and Estate Plan . Changing conditions and challenging family dynamics had to be addressed and MP and her staff helped me navigate to a comfortable solution with professional counsel, grace, and understanding,

I feel most assured with the final outcome and would highly recommend the services of Millie Palmer and the entire staff at WP&D.

I called this firm for an estate consultation. They told me the initial consultation was FREE. And after I went with another firm they send me a bill for $361. I am so glad I did not use this firm. I will NEVER go back or recommend them to anyone.

Nothing for Something…
After a short evaluation, we selected Waltz, Palmer and Dawson (WPD) for a simple estate resolution, and it turned out to be the most disastrous decision in my life, especially from a financial standpoint. We entrusted our case to Millie Palmer the “P” in WPD, who was a neighborhood acquaintance because she acted like she was interested in our position and expressed complete confidence in a quick and positive outcome. In the end, it appears their true interest was in our cash and not our fair settlement of the estate. Ms. Palmer stated to us that our situation was a simple estate closure, and that the estimated costs would be around $3k, unless things got challenging, then it might go as high as $6k. By the end, WPD had ground through well over $60,000! The bill was so staggering it affected our life including college selection for our children. WPD used a variety of means to rack up the bills; running wasteful audits, utilizing an outsourced lawyer, delayed and erroneous bills, using multiple lawyers in court, repetitive meetings to review status… It just never stopped. I frequently asked them to stop spending money, and to eliminate the outsourced lawyer, and all my requests were ignored until it was too late. Millie’s response was surprising, “you should have fired us”. Even the judge on the case was so disgusted with WPD representation that he threatened to jail one a WPD attorney for their conduct. Millie told me to ignore the escalating bills as they were being inflated to assist with the final settlement and that it would be discounted off in the end. As I was cornered into taking a settlement that had errors, and one I wanted dismissed, WPD demanded I sign over the entire final settlement cash, telling me that the court would never approve it any other way. WPD took everything they wanted without my approval, returning the scraps to me. The WPD $60,000+ bill does not even cover all of the losses I took on the estate, which substantially increased during the excessive time it took WPD to bring the estate to closer. WPD refused to agree to a settlement, and kept what they wanted, well over $60,000! Without recourse, I have few options but to file a report with the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) of the Supreme Court of Illinois, asking them to review the business/legal practices at WPD. In addition I am evaluating options on bringing a lawsuit against WPD for all of the losses. This is a long story of failures, errors and falsehoods, and I have volumes of documents to support my claim. Don’t make the same mistake and trust WPD with your assets. Take your time and find a reputable firm and get everything in writing as the case progresses. If WPD doesn’t have a company motto, I can recommend one; WPD, where you get nothing for something.
