Get Mr. Shiller if you need a lawyer. I was charged with major felonies in Dutchess and Orange and decided to save $$ and go with the free defender, my mistake and after being locked up for more than six months, my family and I hired Shiller. Thank God!! Shiller came to see me in jail and calmed me down and spent over 3 hours with me explaining everything about how court works. I was so scared, the other lawyers were telling me that I could face 50 years in prison so I should take 5 years for a crime I did not do. After 3 months I was released and Mr. Shiller got me violations on both sides of the river. If Shiller did not work his magic, I would be in state prison and have a major felony record.

Mr. Shiller has represented my wife and I on over 35 traffic cases mostly speeding and he has been SUPERB!!!!!!!!!!!!! On all these cases, we have yet to receive a point towards our licenses. Go to Shiller Law, he takes the time with the client and he is just AWESOME!!!!!!

Court is so stressful especially when custody of your child is at stake, and a hostile ex makes inflammatory false allegations against you. My first lawyer was completely ineffective, never returned my calls or gave me any sense of what to expect at each stage of the legal process. They used up my retainer having done nothing but stand next to me in court like a life size doll. This was my 4th DWI charge and Shiller got my case DISMISSED!!!!!!!!!!!! On this case, Shiller did a hearing on my behalf and just shredded the State Trooper when she took the witness stand and tried to lie and mislead the Court. Mr. Shiller is the man, he battled to show and convince the Judge that the Trooper had stopped my truck for no reason. The Judge threw out the evidence and my case was dismissed. Mr. Shiller's confidence and courtroom skills reassured me throughout my case. He had represented me on my prior three DWI cases and made sure that I never got a criminal record and fought each case.
Here Shiller saved me again, now I still have my full license and my job. Thank you sir!

I went to Shiller because my baby's mama was trying to take my son away and said I hit her. I was so scared and Shiller told me that he will stop this. Shiller went in like Rocky. He got the case dismissed and tko'd the DA. Then Shiller showed the judge in family court that she was lying and proved that I am a good Father. I now have joint custody of my son and more time with him than I did before. Go to Shiller he really cares and will get you justice.

Took only 2 months to forward court order

I have retained Eric Shiller on two separate occasions. The first time we appeared in court I discovered just how smart and savvy he is; a seasoned, accomplished professional experienced in the complexities of the law who argued effectively on my behalf. The second time, with much more serious charges pending, he miraculously pulled a rabbit out of a hat, something no other attorney could have accomplished. It would have been a very different outcome had he not been there. Since you are perusing reviews of lawyers I assume you are looking for the best. Eric is hands down the best. There are no words to describe my gratitude for his commitment, his strategic capability and his perseverance. I understand he has fought over 20,000 cases and, with many years of experience, knows the "players" and is undaunted by the prosecutions’ allegations. There are many attorneys out there who will dazzle you with the sale only to plead you out, not giving your case the time or attention it deserves. If you want dedicated, determined counsel who can deliver exceptional results hire Eric Shiller. You’ll be glad you did.

My family and I have been going to Mr. Shiller for years for family court, for traffic court - I recommend him to everyone and you know what, NO ONE has said they regret hiring him...its like he's on retainer lol -- He doesn't BS you and he's this tall guy who seems a bit scary, but makes all the other lawyers look like they just got out of law school . Seriously, he hasn't failed me yet and I have been involved in some crazy stuff...

I dont know what this guy Cee Jay is talking about, Mr. Shiller is the best. Sounds to me like that guy just didnt want to pay his money to Mr. Shiller and is just talkin s** . I just got my kid back in family court and he is the one who did it. He is super nice and cared about my kids and me, talked to us and everything. No one argues like Mr. Shiller. NOBODY. I wouldnt go to any other lawyer.

I left a review a little over a month ago. I left the original at the bottom here, however after further disapointments, here is my update. Just days before going to trial, I was told by multiple other lawyers that I was basically screwed because Eric had done such little work to prepare. After firing Eric and hiring a replacement lawyer, the replacement had to completely pull the whole case because NOTHING had been done. When I say Nothing, I'm telling you that not a single subpoena had been filed, no discovery requested, NOTHING. Mind you, this is less than a week from the trial day where I was set to fight for my son. Fast forward.... I get my billing history from Eric. The man has charged out the ass for EVERYTHING, just so that he could keep the majority of my retainer. This man claims he charges $300 an hour but has the nerve to charge $100 to review an email or take a five minute phone call. Even my new lawyer that charges $375 an hour only charges $37 for reviewing an email. This guys a crook. He charged me almost $600 to appear in court for less than hour, a court date that he was over a half hour late for. Fast forward some more. Eric claims there was a little more than $300 of the retainer that was not used, that he HAS to return to me BY LAW. Now a month later... I'm still waiting for a check to come in the mail, Eric refuses to answer or return any of my calls or texts, and I'm now preparing to take legal action. It's not about the money, it's about principle. You pay a man up front for a service and you expect that service to be provided to you. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MAN TO ANYONE! IF YOU WANT A FAMILY COURT LAWYER WHO IS DRIVEN BY THE POWER OF FAMILY AND NOT THE POWER OF THE DOLLAR, THAN DO NOT HIRE THIS LAWYER!
