As a new comer the the Village of Williams Bay it was difficult to find an attorney that would represent my wife and I against the Village of Williams Bay, WI. The Village must have almost every law firm around the area on retainer. After attempting to deal with our property issues on our own we found out the hard way we needed to find not a good lawyer but a great lawyer to represent us. I got exceptionally lucky and found James Duquette. Mr. Duquette did an over the top explanation of the law, the way the Village had written it. After giving the Village ample time during our hearing the Village of Williams Bay Zoning board realized Mr. Duquette was correct with his interpretation of the way the laws are written. I hired Attorney Koch in Fall of 2017 for a divorce and the divorce was completed in Spring of 2019. He had to weave through 24 years of marriage, three teenage children and a family run business. After finding myself in a difficult situation, Keith Venema took the time to understand my position and negotiate a plea deal with my best interest in mind. The retainer estimate provided by Seymour, Kremer, Koch, Lochowicz & Duquette, LLP was 40% less than the estimate I was given by first law firm I visited in Elkhorn. 7 months later, the situation resurfaced and the law firm was immediately helpful in guiding me through the situation. I would not recommend this law firm. I hired them and their website boasts they will keep in contact they do not. I would leave a message for my lawyer for an update on case once every 3 months and never get a return call. When in court lawyer just sat there I would do all the talking.

My VERY young lawyer was ill prepared for my case. She lost an easy case and was unopposed as the plaintiff served as their own council. The ask for big retainers before they will even speak with you regarding your case. Either ask for one of the senior partners or go elsewhere.
