I was a union full time chief paramedic for our local municipality. I suffered a serious on-duty shoulder injury. I was entitled to the maximum amount of Pennsylvania workman's comp for the year this happened. I was surprised to see that my monthly benefit was far below what it should have been. I had never been injured at work in my twenty seven year work history. When I was, I had no idea what to do. I would like to say that Ron Calhoon is the best that there is! Through the whole experience of the wc ordeal, I never once felt like just a case to him or his office. Seventeen years of excellent service. In November of 1995, while employed at Rite Aid distribution center, in Pennsylvania, I was severely injured because Rite Aid violated OSHA policies. After treatment at local hospital, and days into my recovery period, I was asked, "Who is your attorney?" I replied, " I don't have an attorney, I don't need one, I am the injured party." Well, let me tell you, that was not the case. Not only was I injured, with no income, Rite Aid and their insurance carrier tormented me, had private investigators watch my house, and made my life a "living hell."
